On Monday 31st October the children spent a fascinating day in London visiting the House of Lords and House of Commons. It was a very informative visit learning all about the routines and regulations of the Parliament and how it works – even seeing where the Queen sits on the day of the State Opening of Parliament. We then went to visit Westminster Abbey where the children gazed in wonder at Christopher Wren’s architectural masterpiece. They also spent ages finding all the tombs and memorials of famous people they had heard of – Sir Isaac Newton, Shakespeare, historic Kings and Queens and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
